No idea. I tried to get him to just simply observe and either buy something or not. I still have my pin somewhere, I think I know where it is. I’ll look for it tonight and post it.

Some anecdotes from my experiences during this time:
I lived and worked in downtown Chicago at the time, right next to the Board of Trade. The local OWS was set up right next to it. I remember the traders had dumped out a bunch of McDonald’s job applications from the window onto them below. I would walk by them everyday for months and absolutely no one was paying them attention. It was a small group of people and eventually one day just like that, they were gone.
A week or so after OWS started I was visiting NYC and we ended up at Zuccotti Park where it all started. I think there were more people selling pins, buttons, and various arts and crafts than there were actual protesters. I remember my FIL asking each one if they were trying to supplement a living or if they were purely a for-profit capitalist venture taking advantage of an opportunity at an anti-capitalist protest. I just couldn’t stop laughing. He was serious.
Went to a wedding in Tulsa a few months in the whole OWS movement and their main park had an encampment of tents with signs but didn’t see any activity.
The big thing I noticed was there was virtually no people of color present, no organization, was a gathering of almost entirely white (mostly young) Leftists, that like usual, failed to cobble together a coalition from other demographics and really just seemed like a spectacle.
I was always a fan of Log Jammin

I just downloaded Podman Desktop and am playing with this. Almost all videos and tutorials out there are for Docker but I’m going to watch those but actually use Podman instead to learn.
Tell that to the terminally online edgelord jimmy Dore “left” crowd
Yeah, it might be Cantonese actuall, if I’m not mistaken a lot of the residents in Chinatown in Chicago speak that. Just spam but in another language.
What’s odd is that all of these calls hang up if I bother to answer. So yeah, could be looking to see if active, and if that’s the case, there must be like a dozen different outfits doing this because nearly that many every day
If everyone dressed like me the world would be a much less violent place
Is that a massive dildo in the background?
I just made an update but TL; DR seems that for me anyway, it was a temporary effect. Will continue to monitor though.
One of my favorite podcasts
Thanks for the responses everyone. I will talk to a doctor very soon.
Well, Neil, isn’t that a little selfish of you!
We had the knob but it broke off. So we had a pair of pliers sitting on top of the TV to turn the dial (from 2 through 13).
My friends weren’t as poor so they’d have a converter box. It had an actual remote and that sound it made as it flipped through all the channels. I can’t even describe the sound but if you know, you know it.
Canceled Prime and Kindle Unlimited, I’m off the Amazon pill
I came over from the Reddit drama as well.
I love using it for writing scripts that need to sanitize data. One example I had a bash script that looped through a csv containing domain names and ran AXFR lookups to grab the DNS records and dump into a text file.
These were domains on a Windows server that was being retired. The python script I had Copilot write was to clean up the output and make the new zone files ready for import into PowerDNS. Made sure the SOA and all that junk was set. Pdns would import the new zone files into a SQL backend.
Sure I could’ve written it myself but I’m not a python developer. It took about 10 minutes of prompting, checking the code, re-prompting then testing. Saved me a couple hours of work easy.
I use it all the time to output simple automation tasks when something like Ansible isn’t apropos
