I heard universities have been closing entire staff departments because of the DEI cuts. Business schools all over the country do DEI research with government grants. That money is gone now.
Even in Pride and Prejudice? I thought she did well as Elizabeth Bennett there.
Take a weekend to thoroughly clean your home. At the end, take a mental snapshot of each room and each surface.
Going forward, at the end of each night before bed, reset each space back to that mental snapshot you have of how that space should look when it’s “clean”.
Doing this every day ensures that mess never gets out of hand.
Thinking of it as a “room reset” rather than cleaning” helps my perfectionism from jumping in and having me end up cleaning the baseboards every night.
Buy a small box (should be about the size of a cat; not too big and not too small) you can put in a place where you’ll see it frequently but it’s not in the way.
This box is your “physical inbox”. Any clutter you find or anything in your space that is out of place or doesn’t have a good ‘home’ goes in this box.
Once a week (or more often if you’d like), go through the inbox and resolve or find a new proper home for each item (even if get home is the trash).
The food one is very good.
It’s been one of my dreams to see Sublime live but every chance I’ve gotten just hasn’t worked out. There’s nothing like their vibe
Nebula is such a fun and weird little song - it’s one of my favorites as well.
The thing about Incubus is you never really get the same band on any of those old albums. They continue to evolve and grow, experimenting with their sounds and concepts all the way.
At least… up until 2009. After that things fall a bit flat. Most recently, the lead singer (and heartthrob) Brandon Boyd had some nasal issues come up and his voice fell off a fuckin cliff. Fortunately, he had corrective surgery and has mostly returned to his usual form.
I just don’t think they’ll ever make interesting music again because I think they’ve lost that drive to risk and experiment. But that’s life: we have to appreciate the things we have instead of dwelling on the things we don’t have.
S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was so great for me because I discovered it after I already loved the band. It was like I got to discover a whole new side to them that I didn’t know. It’s one of my favorite albums because it’s just so raw. You can tell they were just really excited to be making their own music and they weren’t going to compromise until they got the vibe they wanted (even if the musicality wasn’t phenomenal).
Hell yeah! Would love to know which albums you end up liking (if any).
A list like this is how I got into Jimmy Eat World, so I’m happy to pass the stoke on for a band I truly love.
I bet Cake puts on a good show. Such class
Oh, buckle up!
All of the newer stuff sucks (post 2009, specially the Morning View album remake), but the whole of the original Morning View album is phenomenal.
Incubus is a band that has changed their sound distinctively throughout the years. If you want to experience that, here’s what I recommend:
Album: S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Motif: A fusion of metal, rock, and funk. Raw sound that focuses more on zany immature lyrics and excellent vocal talent. Just a lot of fun to play on full blast in the car. Recommended songs:
Album: Make Yourself Motif: A movement away from focusing on drug use and sex and more about self discovery and the joy of independent thought. The band really matures into alt rock at this stage. They still have some signs of funk, but the band begins to show the first signs of their more relaxed vibe that would permeate Morning View. Recommended Songs:
Album: Morning View Motif: Keeping their alt rock roots, the band shifts into a more relaxed sound in the latter songs of the album. The band has stated that this was their favorite album to record and it shows. This is the album that defined a lot of my life outlook as a teenager. Recommended Songs:
Album: A Crow Left Of The Murder Motif: Guitarist Mike Einziger’s most refined sound. The band ditches most of the chill vibes for a more angsty tone. There’s a lot of cultural commentary in this album. That said, it’s here that the band starts to fade from glory a bit. Recommended Songs:
If you’ve made it this far, I recommend checking out Light Grenades, but that album really starts to lose the original raw spark that Make Yourself had.
Enjoy Incubus!
Incubus! Seen them 3 times and each show was phenomenal.
This is gold and I’m so thankful for this knowledge.
I wish I could limit the response to just one picture so I could use this as a meme generator in response to user comments.
Krampus. It’s summer rn
Until a car accident and they put you on pain killers and don’t allow you to drive. You gonna end up Stranger Things’d in that hospital bed.

We can’t go back, but your remembrance of how good it was back then is pleasurable in and of itself. Wishing you well on your journey, time-voyager.
About fucking ready to wipe Budget rental car off the face of the earth for the bullshit they gave me about their insurance.
Learned a tough lesson from that one.
I appreciate your research lol
What’s funny is the motion picture depicts Obama sitting in prison alone.
You know it’s fake because if Obama was in prison EVERYBODY would want to be his buddy. Dude has so much freakin charisma.
