I’m not the person you replied to, but I think my experience could be relevant.

I have a MiBox TV S 4K, which as far as I know runs pretty pure AndroidTV (but I might be wrong). This is still going to try to connect to Google and Xiaomi servers for tracking and ads… but I have set up a custom DNS blocking trackers and ads.

I found this Reddit post and followed the instructions to change the DNS server on the MiBox to NextDNS, where I could later activate relevant blocklists (SmartTV, Xiaomi, Google). I also perform monitoring of the domains the MiBox connects to and have blocked a couple manually.

Finally, for AndroidTV forget about NewPipe and use SmartTube. It’s the same idea, but optimised for the AndroidTV experience where you have a remote and not a touchscreen.

MP3Tag sounds cool, but there’s no Linux version it seems :(

2023 is the hottest year ever in record. Everything suggests that it won’t hold that record for long. Why would I bring children to this world to suffer the hell that 2050 will be?

I love Organic Maps, it is clean, simple, and works for 95% of my needs. The rest of the times I resort to OsmAnd, which is heavier and more complicated but has many more options.

The house number search can be tricky with OpenStreetMap based apps, unfortunatey, but still better than using Google, in my opinion.

I used Magic Earth in the past, but it has some wrong information in my city (an important road is marked as closed and it calculates long detours) which is not coming from OpenStreetMap, so I personally don’t trust it.

Obviously the “loving hard” part is dumb, but I hope you see the irony on posting this tweet and then citing for the definition of “Latino” a website from a US institution

So the definition of what “Latino” is comes from… the US institutions?
