I’m not gonna touch the insane ramblings of the Cheeto, but I will remind you that the oceans exist and you can very easily take a boat from Mexico to Canada without ever entering the US if you wanted to.

To add to this as someone who has a friend that owns a publicly accessible fountain that needs the coins cleaned out of frequently.

He doesn’t care if a kid steals a handful of coins once in awhile. Most parents will tell their kids to put the coins back so that the person’s wishes still come true, but he doesn’t like when adults try and take coins out for any reason.

The coins are a not insignificant amount of money that helps pay for the cost of running the fountain and having adults fish out all the quarters does make the value of the coins significantly worse when it comes to cleaning time. Granted most people toss pennies to begin with.

Basically don’t dig out coins from a fountain unless you have permission from the owner of said fountain.

The act of using a prepped weapon? The gun for sure.

The complexity of the mechanical nature and upkeep? Bow far simpler.

If you were to just hand a prepped weapon to someone and tell them to shoot a target the gun user would be far more likely to succeed first.

If you expected someone to figure out how to prep a weapon (stringing the bow vs loading a mag) I think people would intuitively understand how to prepare the bow for use, but the specific motions and buttons for guns might stump some people.

Now I really want to find a bunch of people who have somehow never seen or heard of either and see which one they intuitively understand easier.

The only people who would get mad about the word “Cracker” are crackers and they can suck it.

Some of my personal favorites were: Caulkie, ghost, honkaloid, milkhead, moon cricket, mulletard, pigmently-challenged, powdered donut, raw chicken, saltine, tornado bait, wonder bread and mayonnaise packet.

Based off their reactions to every thing that’s being going on it seems to me that they have learned absolutely nothing.

If the 2028 election was happening tomorrow I think the Democrats would lose again.

Even if we all had the exact same skin tone there woulda still be racists. They would just move onto hair color or eye color or nose width. Some people just have hate in their hearts and they will use any physical differences to lump people together.

Personally I’m with Morgan Freeman on the topic. Just stop talking about it. Stop talking about race. We are all humans. We all got struggles. Let’s all get along as humans and work together.

Once in awhile it can be funny but when it’s every single comment it’s less funny.

Lemmy is far more left than reddit which is impressive because I already felt reddit had a hefty left wing bias. I didn’t know how much more left you could get until I got here lol.

The userbase is a much less varied. Being more skewed towards the extremely progressive and tech savvy “nerd” types. Which makes sense.

The quality of conversations here seems better. More actual responses and less “meme dunking” karma type comments.

Eh. I kinda miss the more specific subs that don’t exist here. Mostly for specific video games or software. I also enjoyed answering the many many questions people would ask on certain subs. Often times it led to people DMing me and I enjoyed those conversations. Especially the ones where I helped someone get over something or work though something. Idk I like helping people.

And less important…the porn account had years and years of fantastic and specific things I had found over the years on there. Lemmy’s porn library is miniscule by comparison.

Certainly has the vibes of something like when they finally caught the pirate bay guy and then the FBI or whoever it was kept the site up just to track users who didn’t get the memo that it was compromised.

I got permanently banned on both my accounts from the entire site for “violating reddit TOS”.

When I submitted my appeal asking what I was banned for they immediately responded saying that my appeal was denied, but still never told me what rule I apparently broke.

10+ year old account with hundreds of thousands of post and comment karma. I was top commenter on several large subs. I had helped tons of people with things over the years in DMs. All gone in an instant because one admin decided to go on a little power trip. And there is of course zero recourse as the user. You’re just gone.

Reddit has been a shit hole for a long time now.

I have lost some family to ketamine. They are doing both don’t you worry.

I feel bad for the kids. They don’t deserve to die at the hands of incompetent parents.

One of the downsides of disrupting natural selection is that now we are keeping some people alive that probably should be taken by natural causes before they were able to replicate.

When you live an hour away from the nearest hospital for some reason everything you decide to do with your free time happens to be incredibly dangerous lol

You have to tamper with the pressure release safety valves and provide a secondary flame unless you are using some bougie incendiary ammo (and even those aren’t a guarantee to ignite something like propane on its own).

We used to blow up the normal sized ones like for your the backyard grill. We would fill the pressure release with valve with JB weld and then toss it into a bonfire and shoot it from like 500 feet away lol.
