Ditto, Summit, with some tweeks, is my daily driver. I still swing by the sub every few months to see if there is new life and occasionally rail against LJ for being so very disingenuous about his maintenance plans. This was supposed to be better maintained than Reddit Sync, but it has been actively worse just about from the get go, culminating in the last over a year of silence.

It’s probably incremental but, IMO, a crosswalk does imply a certain amount of pedestrian traffic that might encourage a smidge of extra attention and double checking from some drivers, vs a location that gives the appearance of having very infrequent pedestrian crossingsmay be far less frequent. That not to say that complacency is any kind of excuse. But it is how people are on average.

Ok, per usual the actual story is slightly less ludicrous. I’m reading this as they are going to make “songs” by taking real sounds but mixing and arranging them into rhythms, the same way they do in some movies as part of an in-world lead up to a song and dance number. So it will blend in but you may notice if you look for it and it will probably impact your subconscious and mood. Which seems to be the main goal.

Hobby oriented stuff. Take a look at meetup.com or public recurring Facebook events. From a nerdy perspective also; Game stores that host groups and events public clubs like I have a monthly anime club near me for instance.

Our parks, Zoo, and Science Center are all free. And the Botanical Garden is free on specific days, and the symphony and other similar orgs do at least 1 free event per year on average.
