Israeli democracy often resembles more of a Jewish “theocracy” I say that as a former Israeli voter. There is a huge coalition of religious politicians that work together to keep money flowing to the orthodox haredi voters whonare invaluable to them.
Most of my family believes similarly to this Rabbi. I feel like if I try to defend the Palestinians or put an ounce of blame on the Israeli occupation I’ll be excommunicated.
I instead try to teach the undecided, usually the ones who have been ignorant to the situation or those who haven’t yet “taken a side”. I grew up in an orthodox Jewish settlement on the west bank so I belibe I can speak with some amount of authority.
This is a Jewish Israeli extremist. Dont judge all of us based on this abhorrent example.
The law of return does allow for converts to move to Israel. They do look into your conversion though and if it is a sham they’ll decline.
I picked up 2 ancient kindles on FB marketplace for $25 and they work great as long as airplane mode stays on. They throw a fit trying to connect to Amazon if you get on WiFi.
Thats all fine and dandy but the conflict keeps both Israeli and Palestinian leadership in power. Bibi is the iron fisted wartime leader who reignites conflict whenever his support is slipping. Hamas is barely worse than he is. The PLO leadership is much the same. There won’t be any peace until the ones negotiating care more about peace than power.
Aaaaaarrrr the seas be tempt me more everyday
I grew up on a jewish settlement with goons just like these. Racism taught to them by religion and nationalism. Not too far off from a Nazi youth upbringing the way we talked about eradicating Palestinians.
