I should note, they said plasma donation, which in the US are usually places that will pay you for the “donation”. The blood banks also take plasma donations, but I don’t think they will pay. Plasma donation is something that seems to be marketed to people that are just barely getting by. And so people lying about their conditions tend to make more sense, as they are just trying to find ways to make ends meet, or have just a little bit of money to spend after expenses.
There is a Planet Money (podcast) episode about this. It’s a fairly new economic theory, but actual PhD level economists have said this. Government prints money, and to bring down inflation they need to get taxes to reduce the amount of money in circulation, to control inflation. The epidsode was in the 2019 timeframe, I think.

You absolutely can ask them that. Noticing it is not the same thing as getting distracted by it. Allowing your focus to be highjacked by the environment is a sign of a weak mind. If you went to work and a coworker told you the shape of your nose was distracting to them, and you need to wear a mask so they can continue to work, that is on the coworker, not you. It is absurd to put someone else in charge of what needs to be done to stop you from being distracted.
People need to control themselves, no one else has that ability.
One is going to be picked for you either way. Not voting doesn’t stop the shit eating from happening, just allows the lighting on fire to also happen.
By choosing the less shit option, politicians will see they need to be less shit to get elected, eventually to the point of maybe even having good candidates. Allowing the worst candidate to win tells the politicians they can get worse and still have their coveted power.
They do, but they shouldn’t. You should not ask a stranger to change their behavior because you cannot control your own. Maybe family would do it for you, but even then it’s can be a shitty thing to do.

I also won’t be going back to BK, but for a different reason. I last went there around 2015, and waited for 25 minutes for them to make me a whopper. The three previous visits to different locations all had me waiting more than 15 minutes for my order. Having worked at BK before, I know that it doesn’t take 25 minutes if you had put the frozen patty on the broiler 5 minutes after I had ordered it. I could have gone into the building, placed the order, made the order myself, and still have it be under 20, being unfamiliar with the building I was walking into.
It’s a terribly sad thing, as I actually prefer them to McD.
It stopped being your money when you gave it to them. It became their money, and they get to spend it how they want, with some caveats.
The US also has ‘salaried - non-exempt’ which would require the employer to pay for time above 40 hours. Manufacturing jobs aren’t allowed to be exempt from overtime pay. It is generally white collar workers that are allowed to be exempt from overtime pay.
Really depends on the religion. There are some religions that aren’t organized at all, and are fully self practiced. They don’t require things to be sold.
The religion of capitalism is a different beast though. I would say that people need things to celebrate in life though, or they tend to get very hostile. It seems to me that the more communal an event is the better the effect is on society, as people can set aside a lot of grievances for the festivities.
I don’t understand this. And not saying it to stir up hate, or troll. This came up for me, I closed the pop-up, and watched the video with no ads. It only added a single click to the whole thing. And they’ve since gone away for me. Don’t know why they stopped, though they have.
Samsung used to have their WiFi sharing under the Hotspot setting. Then they changed the layout, and now WiFi sharing is buried deep in menus to make sure (for some terrible reason, I’m sure) it’s not found without a web search. They change the exact location of it with every OneUI update also, to further piss me off. They are surely the company that is actively trying hardest to lose customers.
