3. Sense of invulnerability and mod neglegence just because Lemmy is defederated. People naively think that makes it invulnerable to similar issues as Reddit (like toxicity/hivemind/bad modding.)

Back in 2023 I joined Lemmy because Reddit got rid of 3rd party apps. At first I was extremely impressed with the content here. While the community was small, meme channels were hilarious and had fantastic content. Same with the nsfw communities. However, now all the communities are filled with AI slop, political ragebait posting, onlyfans subsciption bait posts, and various other trash. So as far as I’m concerned Lemmy seems to be circling the drain. I can’t in good faith tell anyone I know to switch to Lemmy. If a friend were to ask me “hey man, how’s Lemmy?” My honest answer would be that it kinda fucking sucks.

I genuinely have absolutely no fucking clue what this post is saying or asking.

Seems like this was answered already, but I’ll add my two cents. Attraction isn’t always 100% physical. It can be and often is tied to personality. Flirting is a way to show your personality in a more intimate way. A good flirt can cause someone else to develop attraction where without it that attraction may not have developed.

The shitpost and meme communites used to be full of really good memes that made it so much better than Reddit crap. Then it devolved into actual shitposts about beans and moths and other stuff that’s not funny after the 2nd time. So now they really are just fucking trash communities, full of AI slop, political crap, and actual useless shitposts…worst part is that mods don’t seem to care… rip Lemmy. It was supposed to be a great Reddit alternative and instead is ruined due to mod negligence.

I’m not sure but I’ve taken dumps that have smelled like rotten corpses or how dumpsters smell in 100 F weather. So it’s not surprising it may also smell like dogshit.

I have fond childhood memories of playing Doom 3 with the lights off in my basement. Scariest shit ever.

• is it impacting your daily life if you can’t have it?

• is it causing issues with personal relationships?

• is it causing health issues?

Well are you using sex to feel better about things that are upsetting? Like people who are addicted to nicotine will immediately think of that the second they get bad news or feel anxious. It’s the first thing that comes to mind to use to immediately feel better. Do you feel that way but with sex? If not then you’re probably okay.

And if you ever feel unsafe then end it immediately.

Nope. But I think it makes the communities feel fake and un-authentic. As I mentioned, certain pictures/videos are clearly designed to drive traffic to their onlyfans. It becomes about money rather than passion. Totally not sexy at all. Also many of these people aren’t even the ones posting. They have agents do it for them.

I just want to complain about how every single NSFW community on Lemmy is essentially a giant advertisement for Onlyfans. Every single OP who posts pictures/videos has a giant link to their Onlyfans in their profile. It’s such garbage. I’ve seen people censor their photos here as an obvious bait plot to drive traffic to their uncensored onlyfans. Unfortunately the mods of these communities don’t seem to give a fuck.
