dang, can’t believe it’s already hitting 2 years since the API fiasco. feels like it’s been no time at all.
Like you, I am a living person with memories, emotions, and interests. But from your perspective, I’m just another picture on a screen. Isn’t that concerning?

sadly the main thing that keeps me from switching to most decentralised things is the lack of a private account.
if you come to California your power bill will be fucking high. me and my roomates don’t even really use that much power and just sit on our phones all day in the dark. bill still usually totals in the 300s.
I thought I was tripping earlier but I just tested it and you’re right. even using Boolean search I can only pull up user profiles, not posts.
100%. my generation is among the first to be raised online, I’m not shocked. even as a kid a lot of my memories are just of being on YouTube or playing steam games.
I always read it as
ess heych dot it just works
Minecraft, though it’s because I usually open it after sunrise if I’m still awake. most of the time if I’m up all night I’m really deep into surfing the web to the point of like, obscure sites about aliens or something.
I just don’t use torrents anymore, I use xdcc. I used to torrent, but there is so much ransomware, ISP threats, malware, ect. I still use torrents for official things like Linux Isos or Gimp though. Gen z here
can I become a hobgoblin too
a lot of the people making these posts don’t realise they are going to fake clone sites with a lesser library that could even be potentially dangerous. even outside of this space people are fooling themselves, I saw someone on discord post a fake 9anime link yesterday.
so called mothership being taken down meanwhile I am about to watch a newly downloaded show once my breakfast is done

I was at Goodwill one time and I swear to you I heard a conversation almost exactly like this at the jewelry counter.
employee: hello how’s it going today?
customer: pretty damn terrible
employee: oh, uh… well I hope it starts getting better soon
customer: it never does
I do even though I don’t use them, because I want them to lose copyright of the name. that would be funny I think.
Like 50GB of music, probably about 30gb of shows. though I only started downloading shows very recently, like earlier this year.
Least controversial day on Reddit.
when a wildfire took down my internet last month I sure didn’t regret hoarding. I had plenty of unseen entertainment at my disposal, watched a bunch of new shows. when it did come back I decided not only to keep hoarding anything interesting to me, but to invest in a new backup drive to keep the hoard safe lol.
I used to love them. Really I did. Under iwata the company was truly something special for a while. But as with all companies, the fall from grace has been hard. I don’t know a single person with a good opinion of Nintendo anymore. Even a surprising amount of irl people who are not in the know about a lot of piracy and modding stuff seem to at least know enough from recent events that Nintendo are beyond irreparably evil.
I only learned to torrent because my dad used to when I was a kid. But these days I use XDCC instead because it’s just so much more convenient. Though to be fair most of my friends who are also GenZ probably don’t know how to do that either.
