Not sure them just defederating to stay small and to be able to handle all the reports, if I recall correctly, is the same thing as making arbitrary decisions in order to feel powerful.

I have asked before and I am curious. I do not mean this to crap on people who want an app but I wonder why an app is a desired thing. I use Mbin and Lemmy on mobile completely through my browser and I’m having a good time with both.
This is why I feel so so lucky to be a small-breasted woman who does not live somewhere hot 24/7.
If I ever do put on a bra it is because I expect I’ll be running (only situation I have been in where breasts hurt braless, very thankful), or because the silhouette of my nipples is visible through my clothes and I don’t want it to be. A good deal of my wardrobe won’t show nipple even if I go braless, but not all of it is like that and so I put on a bra.
Being charitable, no deadline + they chose to write this for fun so it’s a passion project as opposed to an “ugh another thing I have to do for work I guess” project.
There was an r/hobbydrama post on her awhile back that I copied to lemmy.world.
I like visual novels because of how I can change the story with different choices. This isn’t much gameplay but it is still interactive and a lot easier to do with a computer than with manually flipping between pages in a Choose Your Own Adventure book.
Now, kinetic novels, where you do not change anything significant in the story with your choices, those I agree with OP’s sentiment. Some people like them and that’s totally fine, but I personally don’t see the appeal. Maybe it’s getting exposure to stories from people who had an idea but not a high enough budget for a movie?
Happy with my current instance, but the urge to try out PieFed grows… would probably mean abandoning Mbin though and Mbin is already so tiny compared to Lemmy…
