So that actually doesn’t do what I want. It will record buying and selling of securities but only as if it were like making purchases or payments in a credit card or bank account. It doesn’t keep track of the value of the security or any other asset. For example, I have a Roth account and it has a couple hundred shares of an index fund in it. Actual will only show that I spent several thousand on that index fund (listing it’s name in the notes) but not the number of shares I bought and at what price at the time of purchase. I won’t be able to track gains or losses for each security, only as a whole of the entire Roth. Actual doesn’t do what I want it to do and I don’t know enough TypeScript to contribute.

You could use KeePassXC. Just sync it on your cloud platform whether that be Google cloud or Nextcloud.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people online are becoming very unhinged. They are looking for fights, placing people on their enemies list if they have the wrong opinion, and just stay online arguing for hours. I don’t know if these are real people, bots from nation states, people arguing with bots, or bots arguing with bots.

Yeah Lemmy seems pretty left-wing but at least you can host your own instance if you’re right-wing. I’m on neither side but I try to listen to both. Forcing silence and compliance will only backfire because it’s in human nature to resist.

When people claim they are for freedom of speech they mean the speech they approve of. I’m for banning hatred, racism, personal attacks, threats, and similar but discussions are hard.

After the whole API and third-party app ban I was already leaving Reddit. I only comment once a week at most but I stuck around for the fringe subreddits like r/selfhosted. I am done with this corporate social media. It’s all trash, AI, and bots.

I miss the good ol’ days when the internet was young. Would spend time on the IGN forums, find random Geocities sites, catch a seizure on someone’s MySpace page, or waste an afternoon finding random things using StumbleUpon.

It has everything to do with it. Ukraine was part of the USSR. NATO was created to counter the USSR. After it broke up and NATO remained they started adding more to the alliance. The alliance crept closer and closer to Russia. If Ukraine joined NATO then that would be the greatest threat to Russia. They don’t trust the west.
