Girardhelli brownie mix. Not claiming it’s the best ever but it’s 100x better than the Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines crap. But there’s also the barrier of 5-10 mins prep and 25+ mins baking so it’s not instant gratification y’know?
Once you bake a pan though it’s pretty great for the next day or two. Assuming you’re not too concerned with your waistline.
Edit: Oh and a box is like $3 at Big Lots. But you do have to supply an egg and cooking oil.
Oh wow haha, I didn’t know that!
It probably would have been closer to 1990 when I first saw it though so it would’ve been PG-13 by then. Still, an interesting factoid.
Yeah Temple of Doom and T2 for me as well.
ToD was somehow approved by my parents (I think it was rated PG-13, not R) and we even owned it on VHS but I definitely lost some sleep over the heart scene and also the monkey brains.
T2 was definitely not approved, but I watched it at a friend’s house.
That’s called a compressor and you could run your stereo through one or use a mobile app to do the processing on your phone.
Back in the day when I found a user hosting good music I would go browse their other files. I discovered a lot of great shit that way.
I think the people of 1999 would be overwhelmed by the staggering number of different heavy metal subgenres we have in 2024. And very few of them would download any of it. So not much would change.
"My mother … would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’ " Harris said with a laugh. “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.”
That’s actually kinda nice. I can appreciate that. We’re all the middle children of history, in a way.
Red Dead Redemption 2. I love it but put it down for like a week then got distracted by other games. Haven’t had the drive yet to pick the story back up.
Witcher 3. I never played Blood & Wine. I loved the game as well as Heart of Stone but I scoured every inch and burned myself out. Told myself I’d save B&W for when I make some changes in my life, as motivation. Still haven’t made a couple of the biggest yet though.
Anyone know what this mod is called? I have the same hoarding problem as the other poster so this sounds essential for me.
corn.com 🌽 is for sale and I tried putting in an inquiry a while back but stupid GoDaddy never reached back out to me so I guess we’ll never know 😞
Also my dreams of being [email protected] have been dashed.
Mellifluous – to me it flows in a self-descriptive way.
I should have said, a whole ripe one, yeah
Fruits from the genus Garcinia (mangosteen, achacha, and related). They’re supposedly some of the best tasting fruit ever, but very hard to find in the US aside from specialty growers in Cali or Miami.
Sure but there’s also tons of produce that has a low shelf life or doesn’t travel well (e.g. bruises easily) so you don’t find it anywhere except right where it’s grown.
e.g. I live where Pawpaws grow. I’ve never even found a whole one because they perish so fast.
There are lots of varieties of Durian that bring out all those flavors (and possibly more) to various degrees. Supposedly some of them can be good if you acclimate and enjoy funky fruit.
The small dehydrated piece a friend brought me from Vietnam recently had tasted like if you went to a pizza joint and mixed the little containers of garlic butter and bleu cheese sauce, then added some pineapple and gasoline and a hint of vanilla custard for good measure. It was extremely weird and mostly reminded me of garbage. And for the rest of the day, the smallest burp brought back its vile ghost.
And all this time I thought the fuel went in the other end.
You could maybe just share a meme like this one.
Some folks in the comments there share actual LLM results, a few of which are sensible but plenty that aren’t far off from the joke.

Wait, so I could have handed over my friend Greg in exchange for one more drink at the bar the other night? Hmm. He drinks more than me so I think he would’ve understood.
