It only takea a few to do such a thing. They probably grew up in an extreme religious home and watch the Israeli propaganda channel (fox news style lies and brainwash). I hope they will be punished for both the desecration and the terrible PR, making Israel look even worse.
The solders involved in desecrating the mosque were detained. Not sure what will happen to them. The right in Israel tend not to care, or at most say these things happen and we’re at war etc. The left are not having it, and see it as part of the extreme right religious movement that is our terrible government.

Hamas askes for prisoners by name. They are not just any palestinian. They are hamas people with blood on their hands. So Israel can’t just gather a bunch of people off the street to release to hamas.

Israel has been treating hundreds of not thousands of Palestinians who cannot receive proper treatment in Gaza for years. It’s nothing new.
It has done the same in Lebanon in the past.

Israeli military is not for volunteers, it’s for everyone. The top ranking generals and chiefs of staff were prominent against Netanyahu and this extremist incompetent government. They are also said that human rights activists that give a voice to solders that saw atrocious acts of the idf itself. This is not the norm, contrary to what the media would have you think. This, according to the top ranking Israeli ex officers, is how the idf should fix its wrongs.
Israel voluntarily got out of Gaza, it would be suicide to go back, both temporarily (as is done now) and of course permanently.
The amount of money spilled from all over the world into Gaza could have made it a beautiful paradise, or a second Tel Aviv.
People there are refugees because hamas is happy with them being refugees.
Israels government are a bunch of criminals, but not for anything to do with Gaza. It’s an impossible conflict in which the only winners are the extremists on both sides who use it to show the world how there is no other way than force. Hamas justifies hiding under hospitals by saying that’s the only way to defend themselves, the corrupt, incompetent, extremist, Israeli government now want to blame the 2006 government for leaving Gaza and by that bringing this assault upon them.
Not saying that’s false, just saying this bloated government of malicious morons talk a big talk and have less control over things. Netanyahu choose incompetent ass lickers and often makes decisions without them.
Internally, Netanyahu can’t afford to reject any semi reasonable offer. He also wants to be able to say he did anything positive. He’ll hopefully be crucified no matter what, but in his eyes nothing is his fault and he’s working hard at getting points for any achievement and blaming everything and anyone in the past millenia.
If it depends on him resigning it won’t happen. He is in a survivalist state. He doesn’t care about the outcome of the war as long as he remains in power. He doesn’t care what happens. The only thing he is working on in a time of war is his image and blaming figures from decades ago for this situation.
The statement is Israel wants to extinguish hamas. The belief that giving them money from Quatar and they will give us peace and quiet was obviously false.
The Israeli people need the abducted to be brought back. That is the no. 1 reason for all of this.
There are a minority of fanatic religious lunatics (currently represented in this horrendous government of brain dead corrupt morons) that want to move back into Gaza. This will not happen.
Netanyahu needs the war to go on so that people forget he is to blame for a lot of this.
The army definitely can, and will be pressured to, punish these solders.
