  • Not only that, but aside from fossil fuels, what’s the next worst culprit of greenhouse gas emissions? Fashion. Our practices in producing cheap, poorly made replaceable clothes and not making the effort into at least splashing out into clothes that last longer and maybe even repairing what we’ve got is a huge problem.

Most pairs of shoes I buy often don’t last longer than 3 months. And when I do finally get one that lasts longer I wear them till the soles fall out of them. My current pair I’ve had for at least 2-3 years.

  • Yes it was, but in some ways Nintendo still succeeded In what I believe is their goal - to scatter the developers.

By shutting down Yuzu, they fragmented everyone into forking their own copies and competing to become the next Yuzu.

What’s more of a threat to them? One emulator with thousands of contributors, or 1000 emulators with 2-5 contributors each?

The best thing about open source is the pooling of developers and resources. While forking is neither a good nor a bad thing, it does tend to break up the developer pool.

It could take anywhere from months to years if at all for everyone to finally settle on a single fork and get back to the level of developer pool that originally existed - then if that happens, Nintendo can come along and do it all over again, at least untill they don’t see the value in continuing.

  • I don’t like Google or apple anymore. Granted apples walled garden approach was never appealing to me. But google antics lately have just sucked the joy out of things. It’s like they’re trying to hinder me at every turn. Just give me a phone with an operating system that I can control, with all the apps I need. Why has that become so hard. Android is good because it has all the apps. But Google’s been trying to lock it down tighter than a ticks ass since they introduced safetynet.

  • Yeah it’s terrible that people wish other people would die due to their beliefs or activism. It’s just not necessary and just plain inhumane.

On the other hand I just wish these just stop oil protesters weren’t so dumb. I still remember the UK article about them halting a tanker truck. Meanwhile the driver is talking to a news crew saying something along the lines of “Yeah but that’s cooking oil”

Then there’s the thing about them hiring a hall for a rally and holding a banquet. With plastic cutlery… Like what? You’re using oil based shit. At least check yourselves in the mirror before you go out and tell others how to go about things.

  • Yeah but little Caesars doesn’t sponsor nearly every single extreme sport on planet earth and they don’t sell their pizza internationally.

Red Bull sponsors, Car racing (F1, Supercars, etc) Aircraft comps (STOL, extreme stunts) snowboarding and many many more. They have their own YouTube channels for their sports. Honestly if you want to see some insane shit, chances are it’s got red bull stamped on it somewhere.
