I’m sorry you went through all this, it legit sounds like the whole situation broke you mentally, when things that are this high stress go on for that long, it can really fuck you up.
People rarely listen to good advice when the fun mistake is staring them in it face. The not dating at work thing isn’t for when things go right, (a lot of people get married having met at their job) it’s for when things go bad like this. You are trapped with them! Like you said, lesson learned, don’t keep beating yourself up.
Next time, and don’t let this scare you off of dating in general, communicate with your partner before that the idea of knocking up a partner is a genuine fear, set a clear boundary. Good on you for resisting getting back into the situation once you had been made truly uncomfortable.
Oh man, it’s been a while. Without looking up the mod log to confirm, I think i was annoyed the person I was arguing with was bad at it. I probably said something very insulting for no good reason. I can tend to do that every now and again.
I don’t know if this was weirdly aggressive, I probably deserved this. I was banned also.
Wow, waited half day for that, that’s a little depressing.
It’s super fun, though! Especially when the other person actually has a personality and is willing to mix it up.
No,i just find you personally distasteful and don’t mind that you know it.
Agreed, the entire system of tipping the American way should be fucking illegal. Wait staff should earn a living wage. I think it’s way more complicated than that, and you see pushback from the owners and the servers, and any movements to change it haven’t had enough backing socially to change anything.
But that’s kinda how it works, you choose to engage with it by going to an establishment with enployees that rely on tips. I mean hell, most of the time if you have a bad experience it’s due to something the waiter can’t control. Kitchen issues, staffing levels, poorly handled rushes. Being gleeful about how little you tip because of how things have changed… just don’t go out. Avoid having a shitty experience and being a shitty experience for someone else.
👑
This is for you love! So, at least one of your interactions wasn’t shitty in your life ❤️.
At least that’s something, I doubt you do that cause I’ve already seen your justification. Honestly the person handing you drink after drink at the bar, wondering if they need to finally cut you off doesn’t care. I’m guessing they’re just happy to be rid of you. Eat alone isn’t advice I need to give you… is it?
Game 101? Wow, every comment worse “social pressure doesn’t work on me” you aren’t tipping Batman, you aren’t tipping Joker, you’re just a jerk who should be eating at home.
You should honestly stop going out at all, the person who is broken post covid is you. You’re taking it out on random wait staff you are choosing to patronize. Make your food yourself, drink your drinks at home, then the only person you’re making miserable is the person in the mirror.
This shit only flies as long as it isn’t a Muslim doing it.
Reminds me of Valarie Hodges in Lousiana like a dozen years ago. Where she stopped supporting religious vouchers for school cause an Islamic school wanted to use them and she didn’t realize that could happen.
Trucking is so funny. There is an adversarial relationship between the drivers and the office, which you can see in this comment.
The industry is trying to solve safety issues caused by the nature of long haul driving and maintenance of profit in logistics by companies that use their services.
Trucking used to be a way a person could provide for their family, remain independent, and feel in control. Now, trucking is an industry where you are trapped in a moving computer designed primarily to reduce the insurance rates of the company that employs them, because their business practices and demands were so dangerous, individuals truckers had to drive more hours, get paid less for those hours, and literally drive themselves, and other motorists around them when they crashed, to death.
Then they blame the truckers as they race to bottom in hiring. Don’t even get me started on nafta. Your industry sucks for the employees who are necessary to keep the economy moving.
This seems so dumb, like people have simply put names to the typical tropes of online conversation, it’s a very typical meta discussion that you don’t seem to want to engage in, so why waste the time?
Your solution doesn’t make sense, just take things less seriously! Are you the fucking Joker, this is serious shit. It only works if there are more likeminded people who share your “logical” opinion. If your solution is to always just overshout, you are agreeing to the will of the majority, which we call the tyranny of the majority in the United States. What happens when the majority you picture yourself as flips to the minority in the argument.
Congrats, you’ve just lost everything! Welcome to 2025. A zero sum game where if someone asks a genuine question with good discussion, people are going to come in to try to flip the table.
This is an excellent example of moving the goalposts, thank you!
Who’s gatekeeper and purity testing this method of targeted censorship you’ve dreamed up?
I don’t even think it’s this, you look at Twitter and see their American numbers tanking, becoming more like that doesn’t make sense from a business standpoint.
Now look at how every billionaire and big corp is bending over backwards to give Trump money. In his mind, a lot of them were complicit in 2020 for his loss, and everyone knows he looks for revenge.
These people like Zuck have no actual morals, he’s just hanging a sign that says he’s on their side, desperate not to be targeted. This is the same way he acted with Obama, the left just liked it.
Doing more research, candidates that were picked from contested conventions are absolutely less likely to win in historically.
So close enough with a candidate as strong with his party as Trump.
Actually the presidential candidate was selected on the day of the convention up until around 1970. They had conventions that would last days, they would lock the doors until a candidate was picked. Then ideally everyone stacked behind the final candidate.
I’m pretty sure there was actually almost a contested convention in like 1980. So no, this is objectively wrong and a bit of a modern convention.
