Ahh yes the warrior Kash Patel who never served in the military, praising Charlie Kirk as a warrior who also never served in the military.

Can they just be fucking normal for once? Just say I’ll see you in heaven. There that’s it, and you get to pander to your base.

Might as well have said see you in Sto’Vo’Kor.

    Oh also,

this is what really got me. You can tell he is trumps guy putting out the dog whistle so blatantly like that. I think that was the thing he was pushed to make sure he mentions to go hand in hand with trump trying to make pointing out his hitler actions as being bad like filling his coffers from his position, eliminating due process, press intimidation, domestic military use, personal police force, puppet branches of government.

Regardless of it being all nonsense, I can’t see that being viewed as an honorable death by Odin, he would definitely call that a cowards tool. It’s not just dying in battle, which he didn’t do, it has to be an honorable battle in the eyes eye of Odin.

The fact that it takes a guy with a gun to smite them, and not a bolt of lighting, is proof to me that religion is bullshit.

perhaps the gods saw kirk as beneath their contempt. not worth a lightning bolt or force majeure. not permitted entry to valhalla, denied the gates of hel, deemed only fit to be devoured by cthulhu

Like any religion, I guess it depends where you’re looking, I had a buddy in high school who’s family was legitimate believers that were way too into it, which is how i learned about most of it, and that’s how his grampa explained it to me. It’s really cool stuff, on a story telling level, but it’s some wild shit to take as truth. Guess that’s true of any religion, though, but dragons and frost giants really knock it up another notch for me.

Although I agree he used hate speech as a weapon I haven’t seen any evidence that would lead me to believe Norse mythology would accept such an abstract definition of weapon in this scenario. I may be wrong though I am hardly an expert.

They were and so are neonazis. Look up soldiers of Odin if interested. They were really big in Estonia when we got our 3 or 4 or whatever refugees and suddenly everyone and their grandma was anti-immigration.

It particularly sucks because the mythology itself is really cool, but get a tattoo or something and people might think you’re a nazi.

I think what is meant by “Valhalla” is a place where all the warriors go.

To understand this, you have to consider Norse mythology:

There are two groups of gods in norse mythology: The Æsir and the Vanir. There is a theory that the Vanir represent a local fertility cult who had already lived in Scandinavia, while the Æsir represent a war-mongering cult who invaded the Vanir’s land. They later joined into one society, i.e. they mixed up.

What’s described here is basically a class society. There’s a warmongering part of the population and a peaceful part of the population, which you might akin to right-wing and left-wing politics. The norse mythology says that when you die fiercefully in battle, you go to Valhalla, where you fight and die over and over again, until the Ragnarök - which could be compared to the judgement day from christian mythology - makes them meet in one final battle before they ascent to the heavens for good (IIRC).

after looking it up, i can’t find any good sources for the “before they ascent to the heavens for good” part except a single ARTE infotainment documentary here. other sources seem to say they just die for good, but go nowhere after the battle.
