Hey everyone,
The Ask: I’m trying my hardest to find any, and all, datasets or databases that capture qualitative data from disaster survivors. Specifically, I’m looking to investigate what people say about their perceptions of the various state agencies, organizations, and peoples who help/hinder their recovery after a disaster.
My Struggles: Some of this exists as the “other” and “tell us more” boxes on quantitative surveys. Some of this may exist in public databases or datasets that I just can’t find because they aren’t labeled or are attached to other research, but never investigated further. Much of it is likely hidden in archives, different research websites or open source databases that aren’t widely known.
The Why: I’m just trying to find, secure, and then analyze what’s out there and what it speaks to. It’s a massive undertaking, but it’s a pet project of mine to find, elevate, and eventually help bring some of these narratives and their insights to light.
