  • Not me but a former Co worker was bitten by something unknown. He went out fishing, I don’t know if alcohol was included but I wouldn’t be surprised. He got home and noticed two puncture wounds on the back of his leg. Over the next few days his leg really hurt, he went to the doctor was basically told it’s just a little inflamed here’s some ibuprofen.

Another week goes by still in pain so he goes back. Might be a mild infection heres some antibiotics.

A few days go by and pain is getting worse. He goes to hospital. The check him out, he is going into sepsis and his kidneys and liver are shutting down. They put him in a medical induced coma. Once they stabilize him they run more tests, they find stage 4 lung cancer. They send him to some cancer hospital in Kentucky. He arrives late at night(still in coma). They put him in a room. They check on him the next morning and he is dead.

  • I decided to move out of my mother’s house. I found a place to rent, it was 1.7 miles from my job. It was just a room in a house but it was good enough. I decided to take it and called the owner.

We met at 5:00 at the panera bread after I got out of work. I signed my first ever real contract. It was my first big boy official legally binding contract.

Next day I go to work all excited and telling everyone about it. I hear there is a all employee meeting. Then all contractors get sent home early. I go to the meeting…

They announce they are closing the facility. Everyone will be let go. If we want to move to the new location we will be given priority otherwise it was nice to work with us.

Less than 24 hours after signing a legally binding contract I was going to be jobless.

Eventually I agreed to move. I have grown in my career. I live with my girlfriend who I met her. I still work with the same company.

Overall it’s a improvement over my previous experience and it was 9 years ago…

  • Hold up… You thought maybe you downloaded malware (which in this case that was not the only cause) so you took it upon yourself to reinstall windows on a company issued laptop?

    1. Why are you trying to fix it? Submit It ticket and it’s their problem.

    2. If you suspect malware alert it security immediately. Many malware act as a gateway to lock other systems. Yes you might get in trouble but I’d rather be yelled at for downloading something then yelled at for infecting my company servers will ransomware/malware.

    3. Atleast in my company a computer connecting without a company supplied image of windows will be denied. Completely understand you not connecting to the internet.

    4. This problem was not caused by you but could of been… Take this as a lesson to be more proactive in the future.

  • Ok, i have first hand experience in this. My child has severe autism, liver issues, and epilepsy. He had a seizure at school, because the pharmacy was out of stock of his medication and we ran out. They got stock back in but never notified us. So someone, I’m assuming the school but don’t have any proof, issued a medical neglect notice to cps. They came to the apartment, interviewed us(everything was nice they were very cordial) and investigated the claim.

When everything came back verified and we showed the multiple doctors he regularly visits (I had to request extra time off work just to handle his appointments, never mind vacation) they dismissed the case. Yes he had a seizure(it’s not uncommon for him) and yes I understand it’s important he’s taken care of. But there are some cases where it’s truly not medical neglect just our poor health system at fault.

  • I’ve told this story before it’s funny so I’ll repeat it… It was the early 2000s and I heard a song on the radio where a man made a bunch of funny sounds with his voice and the only lyrics I remembered were “I’m the scat man”. I was interested to see what else he made…

I went on to kazza and search “scat man”, found a video I assumed was a music video and downloaded… Several hours later (56k modem)…

    My childhood was lost forever.

  • Long story short… Most of the money the company earned was from the credit union. I went through a depression phase and tried to kill myself (I’m doing better now) so I was inpatient in a mental ward for about a month.

The credit union got a computer security audit from the ncua(similar to fdic but for credit unions). My boss could not access any system. No servers, no firewalls, no intrusion detection systems, nothing. I had the passwords but was unable to be contacted and “documentation was a waste of time”.

They failed the audit. Credit union basically asked “we pay you for computer security, we failed an audit for computer security, so why do we pay you?”

Contract was lost and company went under shortly afterwards.

  • Ok, I’ll give my experience. I was hired as basically a paid intern. I was in high school, I “knew” computers like a nerdy teenager knows computers… Not real knowledge of their workings but I played with some programming(I got hello world to work using perl) , I could install linux(in the early 2000s, I bought copy of Debian Linux on 7 cds). I was basically told I would be an assistant to the other computer technician.

A week after I got hired, he got fired. For the next several months people got hired and fired after a 2-3 weeks. The company was 3 people, myself, the owner, his wife did the accounting. I didn’t know what I was doing, googling what I could to figure stuff out(i now know that’s normal but also now know how to Google correctly). I leaned on the owner to figure out things. I don’t know if your job is in computers but these are things I learned later were absolutely idiotic.

    1. If a computer came in with a suspected virus, standard protocol was no research or investigation… Format and reinstall.

    2. We had corporate clients (main client was a credit union), we gave the windows CD and license code to each teller with no record of what they were. He sold the license at the price he bought then for from staples.

    3. All servers had local admin accounts. All local admin accounts had similar passwords. I was the only person who knew what those passwords were.

    4. My boss thought time spent documenting was time wasted.

Anyways I stayed there for 4 years. It was not perfect and I learned so much wrong stuff. It was a decent job, my boss had really weird rules(why so many people got fired), and my time would of been spent better learning correct information.

That said I ended up causing the company to go bankrupt and the owner and his wife are now Christian consulers…

  • My understanding from reading other SovCit posts(keep in mind this is all bullshit), when we converted from gold/silver backed economy the government took out a massive load from the World Bank and used its present and future citizens as collateral. Since the value of this loan has increased by so much since it was originally created there is now Equity which belongs to each citizen that was used as collateral. Your Equity is tracked using your social security number. As such any loan you take out using your social security number can be paid using this Equity.

Yes, it makes no sense and that is not how collateral or equity or the world bank or fucking reality works but I think that is their belief.
